Jeffrey
A. Hansen
Jeff
Hansen's passionate interest in what enables innovative companies
to survive—and thrive—started early; both his parents were entrepreneurs
of innovation-driven businesses. Throughout his career, Jeff has
worked to unravel the factors that are the greatest contributors
to success for growing companies. He began this pursuit while working
on his MBA more than two decades ago. Since then, as a management
consultant, entrepreneur, writer and researcher, he's evaluated
hundreds of firms. For the past 15 years, he has consulted extensively
in the U.S., Japan, Europe, Australia and Asia, helping companies
to develop effective organizational strategies.
In
1998, Jeff founded Blue
Heron Consulting to advise businesses on how to create effective
ways of managing their innovative professional teams and to improve
the strength and sustainability of their activities. Before founding
Blue Heron, Jeff worked for Russell Investment Group for 13 years.
He was Russell's Director of International Management Consulting,
initiating this line of business and working with some of the world's
most highly regarded financial services companies. Before that,
he was based in Tokyo as Russell's Director of Consulting.
Jeff's
book, Mastering Business Growth and Change Made Easy, draws
on his extensive experience evaluating and consulting to businesses
that depend on human insight and judgment for their business success.
Many of the book's basic insights grew out of his original research
on the management strategies of venture capital-backed businesses
more than 20 years ago. This research was recognized with a Venture
Capital Paper Award from
the National Association of Small Business Investment Companies.
Jeff
has also authored numerous articles appearing in regional U.S. business
journals and other publications.
He lives with his wife, Gabi, their two daughters near New York
City.
